GLEs – Guided Learning Experiences
*Make sure you keep checking the schedule / calendar for opportunities, as some may not have full descriptions here.
Cleveland Natural History Museum / Eco-House (8/20/2011)
We visit the museum, get a tour of the PNC SmartHome at Wade Oval, and explore art installations in the area. Trip Focus: Environmental science, conservation, activism, smart living, etc.
Kayaking the Cuyahoga River (9/10/2011)
We meet a team from Kent State’s Adventure Center for a trip on the Cuyahoga River using kayaks. Discovering the river and all it has to offer from the water offers a new perspective, and a fresh take on “learning by doing”!
Bike Trip in Cuyahoga Valley (10/14/2011)
A bike trip like no other! We board the train in Peninsula, ride with our bikes (on board the the train) to Akron, where we travel back using the bike path through both the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and various Metro Parks. A friendly competition in the form of a bike orienteering keeps everyone on ‘off’ their saddles!
Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame Museum (NOV / DEC)
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, a nationally acclaimed museum, offers a trip through time, culture, and of course, music. The history of rap, soul, jazz, and everything in between triggers emotional cues, and we have always left wanting more!
