Yes, it's true! You can save the files from sites like YouTube, and Google Video. It's easy to do, and works great in a setting where sites are blocked from direct access. All you have to do is save them at home, or someplace where the network is not restricted, and then use a flash video player for easy playback at any time. Here's how you do it:

Step 1 - Start using a browser like Mozilla's Firefox. Get it here.

Step 2 - Get the plugin for Firefox called DownloadHelper. Get it here.

Step 3 - Follow all instructions on the above sites to get it installed.

Step 4 - In your browser window, you will now have a new button (it acts as a drop down menu, usually to the right of the address bar). It will be blinking, or rotating, when there is a file that you can download. Simply click on the button, then click on the file to begin download.

Step 5 - Get a flash video player (any player that will handle a .flv file format). Download them here directly. Just pick your operating system.

Step 6 - Play your downloaded flash files anytime using the above player.
