Have you ever wondered how to get all of your news, updated blogs, and more without having to go to a bunch of web pages - taking up valuable time? Well, the answer is here, and it's called Bloglines.com.

Bloglines uses RSS feeds, or Atom feeds, to generate updates for you, so whenever you want to check for updated material from a specific website, all you have to do is check your one Blogline page! To learn more about RSS and Atom, click on the links...

Here's how you set it all up:

  1. Visit www.bloglines.com
  2. Click on the SIGN UP NOW button or link.
  3. Create an account, with strong a username and password.
  4. Once done, it will take you to your "feeds" page.
  5. Use the search bar in the top right hand corner, enter a search term, like 'news', then make sure it's set to "search for feeds", click the arrow to search.
  6. Bloglines will generate a search result from which you can simply subscribe to feeds. The feeds will now appear in your list on the left hand side.
  7. That's it! All you have to do now is get the updated stuff. Feel free to play around with all the settings, subscribe/unsubscribe to feeds, search for new stuff, and manage your feeds by creating folders, etc. It's all pretty intuitive, but if you need help, email me here.

Still not convinced Bloglines is the best thing since sliced bread? Well, you're wasting a lot of time visiting hundreds of websites instead of having all the updates in one spot.

Wherever you see the RSS logo, or the Atom logo, (looks like this ) it means that you can subscribe to that feed of updates. Easy as one, two, three!

Try visiting this blog: falconculture.blogspot.com then subscribe to the feed by clicking on the Atom link at the bottom of the page!
